Arts preview: "Angels in America"
"Angels in America," Tony Kushner's celebrated and challenging examination of American homosexuality in the 1980s as the public is just becoming aware of the AIDS crisis, is one of the most important works of American theater from the past 25 years. The piece is subtitled "A Gay Fantasia on National Themes." Here, Warehouse Theatre tackles the first of the work's two parts, "Millennium Approaches," focusing on a gay couple dealing with an AIDS diagnosis and the lives of several other characters whose paths intersect.
