Scott Woods is a poet and spoken-word performer, and has hosted writers' nights, open mics, slams and more for years, so you knew that “Holler” was going to involve some spoken word alongside the music, dance, drama and visual art.

Though young, Meaca Moore is a veteran performer. She started writing as a middle schooler, and performing in her teens, developing a message about the poor-yet-educated black girl.

“It's an honor to be invited to be a part of this, with these other artists, for an event that's imperative in so many ways,” Moore said. “Events like this are going to sprinkle down to a younger scene. It's bigger than right now.”
