Arts preview: 'The Turn of the Screw'

On the surface, programming an intimate, modern, English-language opera by a lesser-known (for opera, anyway) composer might seem a risk. And, sure, Benjamin Britten's “The Turn of the Screw,” which tells the spooky story of a new domestic employee at a remote English mansion, is a departure from grand Italian or French opera. But…
“Amazing singing, beautiful costumes, a magnificent set. … It's a perfect introduction into what [people] should expect from opera,” said Opera Columbus Artistic Director Peggy Kriha Dye.
