Playwright Branden Jacobs-Jenkins and Available Light Theatre are messing with you. Sort of. This audacious 2014 Obie Award-winning play featuring slaves and slave owners asks things of its audience in different, sometimes uncomfortable, mostly funny ways. And what it's asking is for reflection and consideration of our attitudes about race, racism and identity, as well as the history of each.
