Columbus-based sculptor Omar Shaheed's “dead pile” – discarded pieces of broken limestone that are the detritus of his work – is a little bit smaller these days. Shaheed reconsidered the scrap material, and new themes and ideas emerged, challenging Shaheed to contemplate anew his work and its meaning. The 12 works in “Salvage/Transmute” are urban dwellings, calling the viewer to consider not just structure but the humanity it serves. The exhibition continues through Sept. 29.
