Daily Distraction: Begin the countdown to Breakaway with 24kGoldn

Listen to the rapper's '3, 2, 1' before his weekend set at Historic Crew Stadium

There are a lot of names on the lineup for the Breakaway Music Festival, which takes place at Historic Crew Stadium on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 3 and 4. Names like Illenium and Chicago native Alexander 23, who finally caught on following 22 failed iterations (we think).

The annual EDM-heavy extravaganza, back following a year off due to COVID-19, delves even further into the subgenre this year, which means there are names on the lineup unfamiliar to most who have never logged onto TikTok. This is a far cry from past years, when neon acts such as Chance the Rapper and Future headlined. (Not to mention the fest's inauspicious debut, which featured headliners Bassnectar, Empire of the Sun, Twenty One Pilots and Kendrick Lamar, as well as a sparse crowd, since the fest took place a good year before the latter two exploded into the automatic draws they're rightly viewed as now.)

Maybe a similar effect will take place this year, where unknowns like Beach Boys (not the Beach Boys) will suddenly seem like massive gets come 2022. The likeliest candidate for this kind of ascension might be San Francisco rapper 24kGoldn, who already has one massive hit to his name in "Mood," and at least one song that might be even better in the booming "3, 2, 1."

Give the track a listen below and imagine how good it'll sound pumping through the speakers in the Stadium Formerly Known As Mapfre when the artist takes the stage on Saturday.
