Ten years ago, I traveled to New York and Madison Square Garden to watch the final show played by LCD Soundsystem. At the time, I wrote on Twitter that it would likely be the band's last concert until the inevitable reunion at Coachella 2021.

Well, it turned out I was off by five years. The James Murphy-led group first reunited in 2016 and has maintained a busy schedule that most recently included a planned 20-show Brooklyn residency, which ended prematurely amid the rise of the omicron variant.

"We tried. We really did. We were heartened to see so many more masks at the last show. we were incredibly thankful for everyone who wanted to make it work. But it will have to wait, again, until we find out what this new wave means to us all," the band wrote in a statement announcing the cancellations.

Not to fret, though, as fans can now get an LCD fix at home via Amazon Music, including both a 1990s-inspired sitcom dubbed "All My Friends," and a pre-recorded live performance. You can watch the stream, which takes place tonight (Thursday, Dec. 23), with or without an Amazon Prime membership.

Watch the trailer for "All My Friends," directed by and starring Eric Wareheim, and then watch LCD Soundsystem perform the song "Tonite" in the videos below.
