Roots rapper Black Thought is in the midst of a welcome renaissance.

First, the MC turned up toward the end of Few Good Things, the excellent new album from Chicago rapper Saba, blowing through the title track as coolly as a Coastal Carolina breeze.

Now, Black Thought is back with a new song that finds him flashing his fierier side, teaming with producer Danger Mouse for "No Gold Teeth," the first single off the pair's forthcoming collaborative album Cheat Codes, due Aug. 12. Here, atop one of Danger's trademark, vintage-sounding soul beats, Thought layers on a stream of lyrically dexterous boasts, and it sounds like he's having an absolute gas doing so.

Give it a listen below.
