Staff pick: Ohio's Sweet Hearts at The Hills Market

Kristen Schmidt, Columbus Alive

What's sweeter than candy? Pairing it with local libations and making donations to a worthy cause.

The Hills Market is pulling together a grand (and do-good) tasting together on Friday night. Your $25 ticket includes a donation to Mended Little Hearts, generous samples of 16 Ohio-made sweets and six drink tickets. Mended Little Hearts is a support program for parents of children with heart defects or heart disease. Pattycake Bakery, Rockmill Brewery, Tessora Limone, Snowville Creamery, Sassafras Bakery, Lexi Loo Sweets and Brothers Drake Meadery are just a few of the participating food and beverage makers.

Entertainment, naturally, will be provided by The Salty Caramels, whose music is just as lovable as their name suggests.

Reservations are required: Email or call 614-846-3220.
