Food news: Mashita Noodles announces lunch at MEATbar, dinner at Double Happiness
Last Monday, owner John Franke announced the closing of Jobu Ramen in Grandview. It had been open since May of last year.
Franke will continue in the form of Mashita Noodles Company, which he used to operate as a food cart, in two locations.
First, he's operating as a pop-up at the MEATbar downtown at 122 S. High St. MEATbar will continue its own service, but Franke will be serving from a separate counter within the space. He'll be there from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Beginning this week, he'll also serve during Wednesdays and Thursdays starting at 7 p.m. at Double Happiness in the Brewery District. His menu will include more Korean-style offerings like savory pancakes with kimchi, fried chicken wings, barbecue burritos, as well as build-your-own ramen bowls.
Franke has also announced plans to operate the food cart again in the spring.
