Artisanal toast expands to Boston Stoker

Nicholas Dekker, Columbus Alive contributor

Dayton-based Boston Stoker coffee shop is getting into the gourmet toast business. Last week they began serving specialty toast made with Dan the Baker's bread. They are currently the only site to offer the toast outside of Dan the Baker's Toast Bar in Grandview.

The coffee shop is serving two types of toast, made to order from Dan the Baker's country sourdough and sunflax breads. The Sourdough is paired with local jam and Hartzler Dairy butter, while the Sun Flax is topped with an organic chocolate hazelnut spread.

The coffee shop crew received special training from Daniel Riesenberger, aka Dan the Baker, himself.

Boston Stoker recently moved south to 771 Neil Ave. in the Thurber Village shopping center. Their previous location inside a credit union near OSU's campus is being razed.
