Author and Food Network personality Simon Majumdar comes to The Commissary Saturday

Author and Food Network personality Simon Majumdar will be making a three-part appearance at The Commissary this Saturday, May 30.

The evening will begin with an Indian cooking class (focused on curry recipes) at 6 p.m. The class is ticketed at $30 per person. Following the demonstration, Majumdar will sign copies of his latest book "Fed, White, and Blue," about his journey toward becoming an American citizen.

The night will be capped off with a special edition of the Columbus Knife Fight cooking competition between Bill Glover of Gallerie Bar & Bistro and Andrew Smith of The Rossi and Philco Diner. Majumdar will serve as guest judge alongside Commissary owner Kate Djupe and Columbus Food Adventures owner Bethia Woolf.

The Knife Fight begins at 9 p.m. and costs $10. Challah food truck and Actual Brewing Company will be on hand, too.

Prior to his latest publication, Majumdar has authored two books - "Eat My Globe" and "Eating For Britain." He's also appeared on a variety of Food Network shows, including "Iron Chef America," "The Next Iron Chef," "The Best Thing I Ever Ate" and "Cutthroat Kitchen."
