Food News: Mission Coffee selling own beans, Los Guachos tacos make Food Network

Mission Coffee Co. began roasting and selling their own beans this past week. The Short North coffee shop opened up a roasting and coffee education facility on N. Fourth St. in Italian Village this past February.
Los Guachos Taqueria got a nod on the Food Network's Top Five show, landing on the number three spot of the "Top Five Tacos in America" for their spit-roasted pork al pastor tacos.
Kenny Kim and Misako Ohba of the former Foodie Cart and of Freshstreet Yakitori are making multiple Columbus appearances this weekend, July 24-26, at The Commissary. Friday night is a casual barbecue dinner, Saturday evening features a Japanese rice burger and taco shop, while Sunday includes a Japanese diner brunch. Chef Andrew Smith, most recently of The Rossi, will head up the kitchen for the new Salt & Pine, opening downtown this September. Salt & Pine is a restaurant and market created by the group behind Harvest Pizzeria and The Sycamore.
The Food Fort is hosting their annual Food Truck Fest on Saturday, Aug. 1 from 3-9 pm at 2400 Corporate Exchange Dr. The event will feature live music, beer from local breweries and family events. Nearly 20 food trucks will be on hand, including Explorers Club (which recently closed their brick-and-mortar location), Burrito Bus, Kenny's Meat Wagon, Dos Hermanos, Queen's Table and more.
Hoof Hearted Brewing opened their new taproom in Marengo at 300 County Rd. 26
on Sunday, July 19. They recently moved their brewing facility from another location in Marengo. The new spot includes an expanded brewing facility and the taproom. They also canned their second beer, Musk of the Minotaur IPA, which is being distributed around town. They've previously canned their double IPA South of Eleven.
Jack's Sandwich Shop downtown has been closed temporarily but announced they will re-open on Monday, Aug. 3.
A second location of Aab India opened in Bexley at 2400 E. Main St., formerly an Aladdin's location.
