Food News: Creole Kitchen, Duck Donuts, Platform Beer opening; Florentine closing

Cleveland-basedPlatform Beer Co. announced it will open its Columbus taproom and brewery on Wednesday, Dec. 28. Located at 408 N. Sixth St., the taproom will feature a three-barrel brew system, a rotating selection of 26 taps, a kitchen for pop-ups, patio space and more.

Creole Kitchen held the soft opening of its full-service restaurant this week. The restaurant is an expansion of the long-running carryout service at 1052 Mt. Vernon Ave.

North Carolina-basedDuck Donuts opened a local franchise at 825 Polaris Pkwy. in Westerville last week. Duck Donuts specializes in making a single type of donut with a variety of frostings and toppings available.

After 71 years in business,The Florentine in Franklinton will be closing its doors on Friday, Dec. 23.

A&R Creative shared the company will take over the former Eddie George's Grille 27 space at 1636 N. High St. in the Gateway District.

L. Hoster Brewing Company has again begun producing its signature Hoster Gold Top lager, which can be found on tap at various bars and restaurants around the city.
