Roundup: Eateries coming soon to Columbus

The much-anticipated arrival of Catie Randazzo's and Matthew Heaggans' Brewery District eatery Ambrose and Eve has us excited for more upcoming openings. Here are five we're looking forward to!

The Lox Bagel Shop (Short North)

Kevin Crowley, previously one of the partners in Northstar Cafe, has teamed up with chef Silas Caeton, most recently of Cosecha Cocina, to create a bagel shop in the Short North. The Lox Bagel Shop makes its home in the space most recently occupied by Homefare. Soon enough the shop will be serving house-made bagels, smoked fish, coffee, sandwiches and other bites.

Parsons North Brewing Co. (South Side)

The opening of a new brewery in Columbus is old hat, but Parsons North Brewing will be the first brewery in the growing neighborhood around Parsons Avenue. The brewery will be part of the East Public development, sharing a building with the newly opened Comune Restaurant.

Katalina's (Clintonville)

The much-loved quirky Harrison West cafe is on track to open its second location on High Street in Clintonville. The cafe is being built out in the former Vintage Fountain Pen store. This means more square footage to enjoy its popular pancake balls, roasted pork sandwiches and breakfast tacos.

Belgian Iron Wafel Company (Short North)

Down Russell Street in the Short North, the Belgian Iron Wafel Company will open its doors in early 2019 to serve Liege-style waffles with all manner of creative additions. The dense and caramelized waffles serve as the base for toppings like the sweet Elvis with Nutella, bananas and bourbon-infused peanut butter, or the savory breakfast wafel with hash brown spinach quinoa, over easy egg, green onions and cheddar.

Woodhouse Vegan Cafe (Italian Village)

Operating as a pop-up at Oddfellows Liquor Bar, the family-run Woodhouse Vegan is planning a move to the southwest corner of North Fourth and First avenues in Italian Village, across from Hoof Hearted Brewpub. The new space offers indoor seating, plus a small back patio. This means a new locale for the vegan crowd to enjoy plant-based version of grilled cheese, soups, coney dogs, mac and cheese, tacos and more.
