Food News: Actual Brewing and Fox in the Snow near opening dates

Actual Brewing Co. is expected to hold the soft opening of its new Clintonville brewpub on Friday, Jan. 4.Owners Fred and Mira Lee have partnered with two heavy hitters on the project: Longtime Columbus craft brewer Scott Francis, who will serve as brewmaster, and Chef Alana Shock, who is heading up the kitchen. The new taproom is located at 2808 N. High St. next to Lucky's Market. Actual's original location near John Glenn Columbus International Airport remains open.

Fox in the Snow's newest location will open at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12, in New Albany. The new address is 160 W. Main St. in the Market & Main development. This marks the third location of the popular coffee shop and bakery from owners Lauren Culley and Jeff Excell.

Next year,Watershed Distillery's award-winning, chamomile-flavored Guild Gin will gain wider distribution. The gin, which was developed in partnership with Cameron Mitchell Restaurants, took home the Best Flavored Gin award in the 2018 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Previously available in limited quantities at Watershed's bottle shop and The Guild House, the gin will be released across Ohio next year, with additional states soon to follow.

Pablo's Havana Cafe is now open for lunch and dinner at 9685 Sawmill Rd., just west of Powell. Pablo Taura's new restaurant offers four styles of Cuban sandwiches, plus traditional Cuban dishes likeropa vieja and picadillo.

Tristan Swan, who leftVeritas this year after running its outstanding bar program for several years, is now building a menu of classic and modern cocktails atMohio Pizza Co. The pizzeria is located at 23 N. Sandusky St. in historic downtown Delaware. Keep an eye out for Mohio's monthly speakeasy events.
