Food News: George's Linworth Diner now open; Goody Boy reopens under Corso Ventures

Short North's Goody Boy, formerly Michael's Goody Boy, has been renovated and is poised to reopen this Thursday, March 14, at 1144 N. High St. The grand opening event is ticketed. The diner's new owner is Corso Ventures, the restaurant group that also owns Standard Hall, Short North Food Hall, Forno and Short North Pint House.

George's Linworth Dineropened Monday at 2245 W. Dublin Granville Rd. in Linworth Crossing, a new shopping center that includes Blarney Stone Tavern, Borgata Pizza Cafe and Tomatillos Authentic Mexican. Owner George Cela's classic diner is the sister restaurant to George's Beechwold Diner. The Linworth location will serve the same menu as its sister restaurant, including hotcakes, French toast, omelets, burgers, gyros, meatloaf and more.

Pierogi Mountain andWunderbarofficially open at 4 p.m. Friday, March 15, inside the new coworking spaceKollektiv(741 S. Third St.) in German Village. The location previously housed the original Max & Erma's, which closed in August 2017.

Franklinton-based Red Door BBQ is expected to open a second location on Saturday, March 16 (pending inspections), in The Point on Lane development near the Ohio State University campus. Red Door, which serves smoked ribs, brisket, wings and sides like mac 'n' cheese, first opened a carryout-only space in April 2017 on South Cypress Avenue.

North Market Cookware owner Kay Davenport plans to shutter her shop on Sunday, March 24, after more than 20 years. Davenport, who plans to retire, told WOSU that she was unable to find a buyer for the business amid uncertainty about the market's planned overhaul.

Vitality Bowls, a California-based chain featuring health-conscious fare, opens Thursday, March 14, at 1510 Stonecreek Dr. South in Pickerington. The menu features acai bowls, panini, smoothies and juices.

Pasquale's Pizza & Pubwill close Saturday, March 16, at 7875 Ryan Parkway in Plain City. Its Westerville location at 558 W. Schrock Rd. remains open.
