Samin Nosrat of 'Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat' coming to UA High School this fall

Foodies, rejoice! The Upper Arlington Library and the Upper Arlington Community Foundation are partnering to bring renowned cookbook author and Netflix star Samin Nosrat to Upper Arlington High School, 1650 Ridgeview Rd., on Sunday, Oct. 20 at 2 p.m. The event will feature Nosrat in conversation with Jeni Britton Bauer of Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams. Afterward, Nosrat will sign copies of her 2017 book,Salt, Fat, Acid Heat: Mastering the Elements of Good Cooking

Nosrat’s book is a New York Times best-seller, and in 2018 it won the James Beard General Cookbook of the Year. Last year, Netflix launched a popular documentary series, “Salt, Fat, Acid Heat,” based on the book and hosted by Nosrat. 

Tickets to “A Conversation with Samin Nosrat” go on sale at 6 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 1, through and range from $15-$35. Tickets can also be purchased in person at the UA Main Library on Aug. 1 beginning at 10 a.m.  

After the afternoon event at the high school, Nosrat, who’s also a food columnist for theNew York Times Magazine, will take part in an evening VIP reception hosted by the Upper Arlington Community Foundation at 1400 Food Lab (1400 Dublin Rd.). Tickets for the reception are $50, with proceeds going to the Ann Royce Moore Fund at the UA Community Foundation. Gramercy Books will also have copies ofSalt, Fat, Acid, Heat for sale at the afternoon event, with 30 percent of proceeds going to the same foundation.
