Food News: More vendors open at Hilliard's Center Street Market; Flowers & Bread closes its cafe
New vendors have opened inside of theCenter Street Market in Old Hilliard.Crooked Can Brewing opened its taproom and patio.Rime Time Curiously Crafted Popsstarted serving this week, whileThe Cheesecake Girlbegan offering cheesecake, cookie sandwiches and other treats. Seattle-basedDumplings of Fury opened last week, serving dumplings, bao, wings and rice bowls.
Florida-based chainMiller’s Ale House has closed both of its Central Ohio locations amid the coronavirus crisis. A location at1201 Olentangy River Rd. near the Ohio State campus first opened in 2013, followed by another last year at 3884 Morse Rd. near Easton Town Center.
A new fast-casual Somali restaurant calledAfra Grillis set to open June 1 at 1635 Morse Rd. Afra Grill’s menu lets customers build their own meals from bases of rice, flatbreads or salad, then adding proteins, hot and cold toppings, and sauces.
Flowers & Bread in Clintonville announced this week that it is closing the cafe portion of the business. Both floral and bread-making classes will continue. The Flowers & Bread owners hinted that breads and pastries will return in some form at a future date.
Tuula European Cafepermanently closed its retail storefront at 3856 Hard Rd. in Dublin back in March, but recently started taking wholesale orders again.
As we shared last week,Rye River Social, a gastropub from the owners of The Pint Room and The Half Pint, is set to open on Monday, June 1. The cafe will initially serve coffee and pastries from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. through June 6, with dinner reservations opening on June 8.
