Food News: Harvest Pizzeria expanding to Granville; Korean bakery headed for Columbus

Openings & Announcements 

Chris Crader, the founder of Harvest Pizzeria, is set to open two restaurants in Granville, according to the Newark Advocate. Crader, who resides in Granville, plans to open an all-day café called The Station at a former 1880s-era train depot located at 425 S. Main St. Across the street, Crader plans to open his fifth Harvest location overall. Crader founded Harvest Pizzeria in German Village back in 2011; the flagship location was shuttered in 2019.  

The Asian-French bakery chain Tous Les Jours is preparing to open its first Central Ohio location at 2851 Olentangy River Road. The South Korea-based chain, which has more than 1,600 locations worldwide, offers a menu of pastries, breads, sandwiches, salads, teas and coffee drinks. 

A family-run Middle Eastern sweet shop called Al Aqsa Sweets & Bakery is coming soon to 1940 Schrock Road, according to city records and signage on the storefront. 

Baker Skyla Johnson’s first brick-and-mortar bakery made its debut recently inside The Pit BBQ Grille (4219 N. High St.) in Clintonville. Suga Pie’s Cupcakes shares a space with The Pit and specializes in cupcakes, poundcakes, cookies, banana pudding and seasonal treats. 

Ohio-based burger joint The Rail is bringing its signature hamburgers and shakes to the Grandview area, according to Columbus Business First. The restaurant will be part of the Grandview Crossing development from Thrive Cos. The Rail’s first Central Ohio location opened in 2018 at 5839 Frantz Road in Dublin. 

Crumbl Cookies is preparing to expand once again in Central Ohio. Its next stop will be 1219 Polaris Parkway. This month alone, the fast-growing brand announced more than 70 forthcoming Crumbl locations around the U.S. Locally, Crumbl has locations in Easton, Delaware, Dublin, Hilliard and New Albany. 

Caribou Coffee is returning to the Central Ohio region for the first time in nine years. Operator Mike Mariola Restaurants and Crawford Hoying have partnered on a multi-unit development agreement. Exact locations and timelines were not yet available. Caribou Coffee was founded in 1992 and is now part of the Panera Brands group. 

A new Columbus-style pizzeria called Dough Boyz has opened at 338 Hubbard Road in Galloway.
