Columbus’ oldest hotel is getting a big restaurant makeover. Celebrity chef and restaurateur Fabio Viviani will soon open Bar Cicchetti inside the Westin Great Southern Columbus (310 S. High St.). The restaurant’s name is a nod to shareable plates in Venice, Italy, known as “cicchetti.” The restaurant is currently hiring for all positions, according to a post on the restaurant’s Instagram account. Viviani is a two-time “Top Chef” contestant who owns multiple restaurant concepts across the U.S. Earlier this year, Viviani opened a New York City location of Bar Cicchetti inside the Motto Chelsea hotel.
Goodwood Brewing and Spirits, a Louisville-based brewery and restaurant, makes its debut today at 401 N. Front St. in the Arena District. The brewery fills the space left vacant by Gordon Biersch Brewery & Restaurant, which shut down in early March 2020. The brewpub menu includes Bavarian pretzels, burgers, chicken and waffles and bourbon-brined pork chops, as well as weekend brunch.
Columbus chef and cookbook author Tricia Wheeler is planning a pierogi cooking class to benefit Ukraine on Monday, March 21. Wheeler is inviting cooks across the U.S. to take part in the Zoom class, which will kick off at 6 p.m. Reservations and opportunities to donate can be found at theseasonedfarmhouse.com.
Yoshi, a new Campus-area hibachi and sushi spot, opened recently at 1502 N. High St. The casual restaurant also offers yogurt drinks, teas and smoothies.
An immersive “Peter Pan”-themed cocktail experience is landing in Columbus next month. The pop-up cocktail bar, dubbed Neverland, will take place April 28 through June 10 at Harrison’s on Kenny, 4510 Kenny Road. You can find more information here.
