Openings & Announcements

Wolf’s Ridge Brewing is preparing to open its third and final indoor dining space at the newly renovated Open Air School building (2571 Neil Ave.) in the Old North. The award-winning brewery and restaurant first opened an event space at Open Air last fall, followed by its Understory lounge in January featuring cocktails by beverage director Travis Owens. The new venue, The Commons, will make its debut Thursday, March 31. Located on the bottom floor of the Open Air building, The Commons features large windows facing the Olentangy Trail and will eventually spill out onto a patio (expected to debut in late April). The Commons will offer its own menu of lighter, fast-casual fare as well as cocktails, wine and lower-ABV beers exclusively brewed for the space by Wolf’s Ridge brewer Chris Davison. The Commons will initially be open 3-11 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday; and 3 p.m.-midnight Friday and Saturday.

Hot Mess Food Truck has opened a brick-and-mortar location inside Hilliard’s Center Street Market (5354 Center St.). The burger-slinging eatery fills the last vacant space inside Center Street, which includes Crooked Can Brewing as well as The Cheesecake Girl, Dumplings of Fury, Meatball Mafia, Pitabilities, Rime Time and others.

Granville’s Three Tigers Brewing Co. and its Vietnamese-inspired kitchen, Mai Chau, have completed their move across the street into much larger digs at 133 N. Prospect St., a former fire station. The brewpub is currently in its soft opening phase, which will continue Tuesday through Thursday of this week. The grand reopening takes place Friday, April 1.

The former owners of the popular Old North eatery Japanese Oriental Restaurant are now running the Korean grocery store Han Ma Oom, located at 764 Bethel Road. After operating for more than 40 years, Japanese Oriental closed at the end of 2021 to make way for redevelopment. The store’s new owners are working to acquire licenses to sell alcoholic beverages and prepared foods. Its hours are 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Sunday.

Wings Etc. is set to open Tuesday, March 29, at 7200 Hazelton-Etna Road in Pataskala. The chicken chain offers a wide-ranging menu including salads, wings, burgers, wraps, chili and more.

Momo Ghar’s standalone restaurant in Dublin has permanently closed. The Nepalese/Tibetan restaurant is still serving its popular handmade dumplings at its location inside the historic North Market (59 Spruce St.).

The cocktail bar Two Truths (1205 N. High St.) closed March 25, at least temporarily. In making the announcement last week, the Short North bar cited disputes with the landlord as the reason for closing but left open the possibility of reopening at some point.
