The three-day weekend forecast calls for sunshine, warm temps and cold drinks on one of these patios

Memorial Day marks the unofficial start to summer, and the long weekend offers plenty of opportunities to relax al fresco. We’ve rounded up several solid spots to kick back with a drink this weekend and all season long.

East Market

The new East Market in the Trolley District includes a patio that wraps around a corner of the building. Snag pizza from Yellow Brick, po boys from Creole 2 Geaux, waffles from Winston’s or bibimbap from Koso, then park outdoors after grabbing drinks at the Railhouse bar on the west end of the market.

Nocterra Brewing

Nocterra’s giant beer garden is always bustling, and it's easy to see why: loads of picnic tables and porch seats; an eclectic beer menu that covers everything from lagers to sours to IPAs; and a Ray Ray’s truck parked permanently on-site.

The Olde Towne Tavern

Olde Towne East’s friendly neighborhood pub features a brick-lined back patio, ideal for relaxing with a local beer, Pisco Punch or glass of Prosecco in-hand. The trusty tavern menu, which includes a hearty weekend brunch, ranges from sliders and nachos to pizzas, burgers and sandwiches.

Land-Grant Brewing

Land-Grant has quickly made its outdoor beer garden a Columbus imbibing institution, filling the former vacant lot with rows of tables and a small stage and populating it with both Ray Ray’s Hog Pit and Mikey’s Late Night Slice food trucks. It’s a popular hangout any time the weather’s nice, and the brewery has excelled in filling it with community events like the Jeni’s Strawberry Jam this weekend.

Ohio Brewing Company

This Cuyahoga Falls-based brewery opened its massive new Columbus brewpub in recent weeks, and the square footage includes a large front patio. It should prove to be a popular summer hangout. Try the taproom's Kulbit Ohio IPA or Double Irish red ale and pair it with everything from cheese curds and giant pretzels to smash burgers, Reubens, flatbreads and tacos.

Goodale Station

It’s hard to argue with a good rooftop bar, especially one that offers a unique food and beverage selection with the cityscape as a backdrop. Goodale Station sits atop the Canopy by Hilton in the Arena District and features dynamic dinner and brunch menus that pair well with creative cocktails. The elevated eatery’s happy hour (Monday to Friday, 4-6 p.m.) features 40 percent off classic cocktails, wine, draft beers and select snacks.

High Bank Distillery

High Bank’s giant Grandview facility features a sizeable front patio. Find a seat there and tackle the distillery/eatery's lunch, brunch or dinner menus while sipping a cocktail made with award-winning house spirits. Try the Watermelon Sugar High made with cucumber-infused Statehouse gin, watermelon juice, sage simple syrup and fresh lime. Or scoff at the drink's name and then imbibe Working for the Weekend: barrel-proof Whiskey War, house-made strawberry balsamic shrub, cucumber syrup and lime.
