Staff Pick: U.S. Women's National Team soccer vs. New Zealand
Wednesday’s soccer match between the U.S. and New Zealand women’s national teams might not have the same significance as September’s U.S.-Mexico game between those country’s men’s teams (the former is an exhibition, the latter a World Cup qualifier).
But the star power should shine as bright, as household names such as U.S. all-time leading scorer Abby Wambach, Sydney Leroux, Christie Rampone, Alex Morgan and Hope Solo should all play. Another carry-over: U.S. dominance at Crew Stadium. The U.S. women’s team is 10-0-2 this year and has scored 43 goals while giving up eight. It might not be Dos a Cero, but it could be double that.
