FOR MAXIMUM FUN: Editor Justin McIntosh picks this weekend's best stuff

Staff Writer
Columbus Alive

It's been a long, strange week. I'm ready for some relief. Here's how I'd spend my weekend if I could be everywhere all the time.

But I Digress ...

At It Looks Like It's Open

"A nonlinear thought by way of interactive dance party?" I'm not entirely sure what that means, but it sounds like fun and a great way to let off steam.

Impractical Jokers

At Palace Theatre

To some, "juvenile" is a four-letter word. I'm not one of those people. Fart jokes, slapstick humor – it's all got a place in my life.

Angela Perley & the Howlin' Moons

At Natalie's Coal-Fired Pizza & Live Music

Blue Jackets vs. Canadiens

At Nationwide Arena

Jaime and Gilbert Hernandez

At Mershon Auditorium, Wexner Center

After "Love and Rockets" creator Jaime Hernandez became one of my favorite interviewees ever, I knew it'd be especially hard to miss his author talk (with his brother, Gilbert). If you care at all about comics, you should be there too.

Author readings featuring Chelsea Martin, Scott McClanahan and more

At Skylab

Scott McClanahan won me over early into his excellent "Crapalachia." Early as in book-title-early (It's a great title, no?). The story itself is a head-rush of adrenaline and nostalgia and depression for someone who considers himself a native West Virginian (even though I was born and raised in Ohio). I'm stoked to meet Scott in person and hear him read (plus, free fudge?).

Justin Timberlake

At Nationwide Arena

At Wexner Center

Jeff Smith

At Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum

I already geeked out over so much of the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum, but Sunday I'm expecting to geek out over Jeff Smith.

Matthew Brandt

At Columbus Museum of Art
