Ladies, Randy Fenoli may just be the man of your dreams.

Or, at least, the person to help you find the wedding dress of your dreams.

The New York wedding dress consultant, best known for his spots on the TLC reality series “Say Yes to the Dress” and the spinoff “Randy to the Rescue,” will take the main stage at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5 at the Columbus Bride Show at the Greater Columbus Convention Center.

He’ll help educate brides-to-be about current trends and empower them to find that perfect gown.

“You have to be true to yourself and tell your story,” said Fenoli, who headlined the show a year ago.

Ahead of his upcoming appearance, the fashion guru spoke with Alive.

What trendsshould brides-to-beexpect this year?

During Bridal Fashion Week in October, my assistant and I saw 80 to 100 different collections. There were definitely a lot of straps, a lot of yokes and halters. There were a lot less strapless dresses, a lot of slimmer silhouettes and trains were shorter. But three-dimensional designs and texture are still in.

There were some very pale [colors], almost so pale, you didn’t know it was a color — like pale pink, blue or green.

What’s popular for bridesmaids?

There are a lot of beautiful bridesmaid dresses out there. You don’t have to dress [attendants] in an ugly dress, and brides are starting to realize that. Kate Middleton did this so well. She let Pippa walk down the aisle in that beautiful white gown. It showed … that she loved her sister as well as her maturity.

Brides are leaning toward more fashion-forward dresses and not so much the frumpy designs and colors.

What’s one piece of advice you offer every bride-to-be looking for a dress?

Do some research before coming to the appointment, but she really needs to keep an open mind. The dresses are completely different from what they look like in a magazine. They’re on 6-foot-tall models and all pinned up.

You may want a sheath dress, but you put on that poufy princess dress and all of a sudden you want to be that princess.
