COTA and Car2Go extend service for ComFest

Abernathy Miller, Columbus Alive

ComFest is upon us, Columbus. This weekend will be filled with killer live (and local!) music, fried treats and beer in brightly colored mugs. With all the party goers descending on Goodale Park simultaneously, you know parking is going to be a blood bath.

The best way to avoid the parking clusterf-k is to cruise up on your bike and stash it at the free bicycle valet (duh!). But if cycling isn't an option, and you don't want parking to harsh your buzz, don't fret.

According to a COTA press release, additional COTA buses will operate between Goodale and 5th Ave. on High St. to transport festival-goers. Look for the large "COMFEST" signs in the front window.

The CBUS will be operating on its regular route with extra CBUS buses circulating between Sycamore and Nationwide on Front St. and High St. Also, the Line 21 Night Owl will operate on its regular route through the Short North on High Street. But be warned, lines 2, 4, 5, 7 and 8 are subject to reroutes Friday and Saturday evening, depending on traffic conditions.

If the bus isn't your speed, Car2Go has extended service to the greater Grandview area, including Grandview Heights, Marble Cliff, the Fifth by Northwest area of Columbus, as well as Franklinton. Car2Go has also added 50 cars to the fleet, so finding one should be fairly easy.

Go forth and party, Columbus. We wish you jazz.
