“The Great British Baking Show”
Is there anything more charming than a bunch of home bakers trying to create beautifully baked works of art and talking about how “chuffed” they are? No. No, there is not. Also, the Brits really like meat in their pies. My kind of people.
Fall means a return to hot drinks for me, but please, don't serve me anything that tastes like someone straight up melted a Yankee Candle in a cup. A plain-old, big-ass latte will do. No spice needed.
Honey and Blue
I met this local musical duo when Hashtag Comedy hosted the Downtown Live Summer Concert Series at Columbus Commons. These two musicians are sweet, kind and Stephanie's voice is BANANAS. (The duo is also the house band at Natalie's Coal-Fired Pizza if you wanna catch the band locally).
I first discovered Lizzo from an episode of RuPaul's Drag Race, and I'm not lying when I say that this woman's music has done more for my self-esteem than just about anything else in the last year. Plus, her Instagram presence is .
This show was a dream of mine almost four years ago: comedians of all disciplines coming together to make an audience laugh with the art of improv ... and oh yeah, they all happen to identify as female. We're now on our 12th Girlprov, coming up on Sept. 26 at Up Front at Shadowbox Live, and we're benefiting the YWCA. It's always a packed house and the energy is through the roof.
