Midnight movies at Gateway

Midnight movies have returned to the Gateway Film Center with a big ... adventure. Pee-wee's Big Adventure kicks off a month of Tim Burton classics unspooling every Friday and Saturday in February.

Man-child Pee-wee has one love - his bicycle. After it's stolen by nefarious neighborhood rich-kid Francis, Pee-Wee sets out on an epic quest to recover the beloved two-wheeler. Along the way, he has run-ins with mattress-tag-removing felons, truck-driving ghosts and an architecturally challenged fortune teller. (Spoiler alert: the Alamo doesn't have a basement.)

Rounding out the month are Edward Scissorhands (Feb. 12-13), Ed Wood (Feb. 19-20) and Beetlejuice (Feb. 26-27), just in time for Burton's trippy take on Alice in Wonderland to open on March 5. Be sure and tell 'em Large Marge sent ya.
