From ketchup to bread - and pretty much everything in between - corn is by far the most common ingredient found in our food. It's also the most subsidized grain, and an upcoming double-header at Studio 35 will spotlight the prevalence of the ubiquitous kernel. In "King Corn," college buddies Ian Cheney and Curt Ellis purchase a small acre of corn and follow it from seed to plate. "Corn" offers an engrossing behind-the-scenes tour of the nation's food supply - with troubling findings along the way. Their follow-up short, "Big River," explores the environmental impact of their plot of land on the surrounding water supply. A portion of the proceeds will go to Sierra Club's Central Ohio Clean Water Campaign.
