Watch the long-forgotten film adaption of The Hobbit

Well, OK, it's loosely based on "The Hobbit," but this beautiful 12-minute rendition was put together in one month (more on the dramatic reason why here) in 1966 and has recently resurfaced online. It was directed by "Tom and Jerry" illustrator Gene Deitch and illustrated by artist Adolf Born. Even if you are not anticipating the 2012 film take on Bilbo Baggins' fantastical tale, watch this lovely animation and be enthralled.
