With the punk-tinged outlaw country stylings of Hank Williams III — think his granddaddy, not his daddy — coming to the Newport this week, we’re counting down our top 10 talented offspring of famous parents.

10. Liza Minnelli

The actress/singer/icon was the daughter of Judy Garland, but the real reason she makes our list? Her vertigo-suffering Lucille Austero in “Arrested Development.”

9. Rosanne Cash

The eldest daughter of the late, great Johnny Cash has a successful and creatively worthwhile career of her own. She had a slew of hit singles and was acclaimed as an author. The Man in Black was surely proud.

8. Michael Douglas

The son of Kirk Douglas has won statues from the Oscars, Golden Globes and Emmys. His career has spanned decades and shows no signs of ending soon.

7. Rashida Jones

The daughter of legendary music producer Quincy Jones has shown she has strong comedic chops as a cast member of “Parks and Recreation” and appearing in “I Love You, Man.” We also give her props for seeming so down-to-earth after growing up with the celebrity lifestyle.

6. Charlotte Gainsbourg

The daughter of late French singer Serge Gainsbourg has her own successful music career, but it’s her work as an actress — particularly with the notoriously grueling Lars von Trier — that really elevates her.

5. Angelina Jolie

Jolie has a famously difficult relationship with her famous father, actor Jon Voight, and though her acting projects have been hit-or-miss, there’s no denying her talent.

4. Jeff Buckley

The son of Tim Buckley, Jeff followed in dad’s footsteps and became an incredibly talented musician — his album Grace is a masterpiece. Unfortunately, he also followed in his dad’s footsteps by dying at a young age.

3. Ben Stiller

Comedy was in Stiller’s blood. He’s the son of comedic actors Jerry Stiller (whom you may know as George Costanza’s dad on “Seinfeld”) and Anne Meara. Ben has carried the torch well, directing and starring in some of the great comedies of the past 20 years.

2. Norah Jones

The jazz-influenced American singer-songwriter has a voice like honey, but you might not know she’s the daughter of the Beatles-approved sitar legend Ravi Shankar.

1. Jeff Bridges

Like his father Lloyd, Jeff was skilled at both comedy and drama. Jeff outperformed dear old dad, though — he’s been nominated for multiple Oscars (winning for “Crazy Heart”) and is a cult hero for his indelible performance as The Dude in “The Big Lebowski.”
