New movie releases for the weekend of July 3

New in theaters:
“Terminator Genisys”
Hollywood takes another stab at reviving the Terminator series. I like the casting of Emilia Clarke (“Game of Thrones”) as Sarah Connor, but color me skeptical, as this was not screened for critics.
Limited screenings:
“Plantpure Nation”
A follow-up to 2011’s “Forks Over Knives,” this documentary examines the push for a plant-based diet among Americans — and the big industries that oppose it. Only two showings at the Gateway Film Center, so check listings.
“Bound To Vengeance”
This horror-thriller centers on a woman who is imprisoned in the basement of a sex-trafficking ring, only to escape and turn the table on her captors. Late-night showings throughout the weekend at the Gateway.
Alive recommends:
“Me and Earl and the Dying Girl”
This warm, funny and moving coming-of-age indie is kind of the antidote to the big beasts of summer blockbusters. Seriously, please, go see it.
