Other new movie releases for Christmas weekend
Brad Keefe, Columbus Alive

New in theaters:
"Point Break"
Director Kathryn Bigelow's second-best film (behind "Near Dark," not her Oscar winners) gets a seemingly unnecessary remake with a new director and no stars. LOL, wut?
"Daddy's Home"
Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg reteam for the first time since 2010's "The Other Guys," this time as a rival dad and step-dad.
"The Big Short"
A surprisingly adept and punchy take on the financial crisis, director Adam McKay ("Anchorman") navigates a complicated issue with help from a great cast. (3½ stars)
Also playing:
"Sisters"
It's a little uneven and little too long, but this big-screen pairing of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler is a crude and crowd-pleasing comedy. (3 stars)
