"The Big Short"

A surprisingly adept and punchy take on the financial crisis, director Adam McKay ("Anchorman") navigates a complicated issue with help from a great cast. (3½ stars)

It's a little uneven and little too long, but this big-screen pairing of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler is a crude and crowd-pleasing comedy. (3 stars)
