Elephant in the house

Columbus Alive

Elephant 6 is no longer a record label, but Athens, Georgia's, psych-pop bands will always be known under that banner. A bunch of folks from the E6 community - which in the '90s birthed the likes of Neutral Milk Hotel, Of Montreal and Olivia Tremor Control - will descend on Columbus Sunday for "a big orchestra, variety show, silly happy thing" known as the Elephant 6 Holiday Surprise. They'll also show the film Major Organ and the Adding Machine, which everyone from E6 seems to be very proud of. Ex-Neutral Milk sideman Julian Koster, whose Music Tapes project just put out its second album after a nine-year absence, will serve as ringmaster of this circus.
