I listened to a lot of Christian rock growing up, but I drifted away from that scene around the time of Relient K's ascent, so their music isn't a nostalgia trip for me along the lines of Audio Adrenaline or the O.C. Supertones. But the Canton pop-punks have experienced quite a bit more crossover success than those earlier acts. Why? They've mastered their genre while remaining adventurous enough to step outside its confines, as on the cleverly named new collection The Bird and the Bee Sides. Oh, and despite what the pun might imply, they're not desperately cheesy. Thank God for that!
