Breaking Cursive

Few of the post-hardcore acts to emerge from Middle America in the '90s are still chugging along, but Cursive continues to crank out orchestral punk-rock epics.

Although Tim Kasher has occasionally put Omaha's finest on the back burner in order to concentrate on his side project, The Good Life, his focus seems to be back on finishing off the first new Cursive LP since 2006's Happy Hollow.

But the band needs a break from the studio before putting the finishing touches on the album, so Kasher and company are taking a brief tour that stops at The Summit next week, a fact that bodes well for fans thirsting for new material. Lacona and Church of the Red Museum will also appear.
