Rocktober: Sea Wolf

Peppering Arcade Fire worship with a dainty dollop of Elliott Smith appreciation, Sea Wolf's sophomore offering is a step forward for Alex Brown Church's baroque pop-rock quartet, though the band has yet to outrun the shadow of its influences. There's a pleasing consistency on White Water, White Bloom, though this music is quite dreary for an L.A. band. Are we sure they're not from further up the coast?
