Music: Jookabox at Wild Goose Creative

Decade-old record label Asthmatic Kitty has long been an outlet for musicians of the outlandish, ambitious ilk. Aside from the stable's most prominent steed, Sufjan Stevens, the Kitty has clawed the likes of My Brightest Diamond and DM Stith out of the rough. Their Indianapolis representative Jookabox comes to Wild Goose this weekend in support of the new Dead Zone Boys, a boundless set of junkyard rock that nods to everything from age-old hymns to Yeasayer's space-age prog rock, from LCD Soundsystem's snarky disco punk to Why?'s weird hip-hop hybrids. Fine folkies Old Hundred, sad-eyed ukulele-wielder Bird and Flower and psych rockers the Woozies (formerly Moondrones) will play too.
