Marquee: Dead Meadow at the Basement

No longer content with releasing brain-fried heavy psych albums, D.C.-to-L.A. trio Dead Meadow recently released "Three Kings," a feature film combining live performance footage and animation, soundtracked by five new studio tracks and 11 live recordings of Dead Meadow oldies.

It's unclear whether the band will don their ancient robes for Monday's show at The Basement, but it could only add to the hallucinogenic effects of the group's spiraling psychedelic jams.

Fittingly, Bands to Watch alums The Main Street Gospel, whose Tee Pee Records debut "Love Will Have Her Revenge" is due June 29, will open the show. Their Tee Pee labelmate Imaad Wasif is on the bill too.

When: 7 p.m. Monday, April 19

Where: The Basement, Arena District
