Occasionally bands' self-descriptors are on the money, and Plants and Animals are right to dub themselves post-classic rock. Their latest, "La La Land," is rooted in the old-school radio appeal of Steely Dan and Steve Miller but blown up to epic proportions through a post-rock approach that made Aloha feel so jazzy and Sigur Ros so cinematic.
