Torche at Ravari Room

Less than a week after Tombs brought their crude harmonic ruckus to The Summit, Torche ups the melodic metal arms race with a return visit to Ravari Room.

Torche may be both the heaviest and catchiest band in the Deep South. They only figure to get heavier since they added guitarist Andrew Elstner this winter after a two-year search to replace Juan Montoya.

While Elstner may give Torche more girth, don't expect things to get any uglier. They're fierce, yes, but also fiercely melodic. If you ignore the ogre-like vocals, it's almost as if somebody ran a pop-rock band through a Metal Zone pedal.

Elstner's other band, Tilts, will play Monday too, as will Eye and Post Teens.
