Explosions in the Sky at Outland

To get away with naming a rock album something like "How Strange, Innocence" or "All of a Sudden I Miss Everyone," you really have to bring it. In doing so, Explosions in the Sky has written its own chapter in the amorphous galaxy of post-rock - a layered, shimmering brand of instrumental power that builds and breathes.

In a way, their best songs seem to explode across the sky.

The band has powered through 12 years, five albums and a film score, but Saturday's show shouldn't be a victory lap. On April 26, Explosions will release "Take Care, Take Care, Take Care," its first new record since 2007.

The Octopus Project, known for its vocals-free electronic mood music, will open.
