Staff Pick: Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels

Known as the godfather of Detroit rock 'n' roll, Mitch Ryder is an icon who represents one of America's greatest music cities. And his show at the Bluestone tonight means Columbus residents get the chance to see one of the greatest live performers in the history of mankind.

Ryder's rasping wail on hits like "Devil With a Blue Dress" and "Little Latin Lupe Lu" is a throwback to the heyday of rock 'n' roll - think James Brown meets The Blues Brothers, only better.

The concert celebrates the opening of the Bluestone's art gallery, which will feature work by Jefferson Airplane founder Marty Balin and more than 300 gig posters from the '60s through today.

The two-night celebration will also include a screening of "American Artifact," a documentary on the history of rock posters, and a performance by Balin following the opening of his exhibit on Friday.
