Strfkr at Skully's

Strfkr's self-titled 2008 debut was a beautiful, melodic mess: catchy but cluttered, full of quality songwriting and bizarre audio clips, ambitious but unpolished. It described a band bursting at the seams.

Since then, the group has gained momentum and moxie, sharpening big ideas into fantastic new LP "Reptilians." The triumphant glee of "Born" is backed by the methodic introspection of "Astoria," while the electronic vibrations of "Death as a Fetish" balance quieter acoustic streams trickling through the title track.

"Reptilians" is one of the year's best records and will get proper treatment from a band known for a great live show. Champagne Champagne open.
