Way Yes unveils new song, gets props from Stereogum, is playing Alive's Rocktoberfest

We are quite fond of Way Yes around here. It's why we listed them as a Band to Watch this year and why we've invited them back to play our big fall music showcase, Rocktoberfest, on Oct. 7 at The Bluestone (formerly BOMA). We reported last week that Lefse Records (home to Neon Indian and more) likes Way Yes too, enough to sign the Columbus trio to a record deal. Now comes the first fruits of that deal: "Automail," the A-side from the band's upcoming "Oranjudio" 7-inch, was just posted to tastemaking music blog Stereogum. The blurb is somewhat condescending: "Afropop-influenced indie-pop: It's not dead yet!" But exposure in these realms can only mean a lot more ears are about to come Way Yes' way.

Wanna see them live? Come to Kobo tonight for Music Week Columbus, or check out Rocktoberfest on Oct. 7 like we told ya.
