Staff Pick: American Journey at Columbus Museum of Art

I love the way the fiddle sounds. No other instrument can tell an old story quite like it can. I imagine the countrified violin being like a grandfather who sits in the porch’s rocking chair drinking lemonade and reminiscing about the good old days.

This free event stars fiddler Andy Carlson and guitarist Casey Cook, two Denison University professors who have been nationally recognized for their musical talent. Prepare to hear the guys take on bluegrass, jazz, Appalachian, blues, classical and acoustic music that pays tribute to our country’s musical — and fiddle-fortified — roots.
