200Columbus announces Celebrate Columbus In Song winners
For those who were mad about the "We Are Columbus" people allegedly misrepresenting this city's music scene at SXSW, here's a project that was decided by a public vote. (So no griping allowed, just rampant appreciation.)
200Columbus, the group in charge of the city's bicentennial celebrations, announced the winners of the Celebrate Columbus In Song contest. Besides a spot on the bicentennial compilation CD to be released this June (which also features Milt Ruffin's new Columbus bicentennial anthem), all 13 winners receive $500 in prize money, free recording time and the chance to perform at Columbus events and festivals.
