Bone Thugs-N-Harmony is known for rapping incredibly fast in perfect harmony. Busta Rhymes is known for rapping incredibly fast and being a living cartoon character. Yelawolf is known for rapping incredibly fast and being white.
In contrast, Twista is known for rapping incredibly fast and nothing else. I tend to think of him as a depersonalized wave of rapid-fire nothingness to be deployed between R&B hooks in dimly lit radio hits. Still, start loading up Twista songs on YouTube and discover that even at autobahn speeds, he oozes enough charisma to carry a concert. You can’t win a championship on slam dunks alone, but they’re marvelous enough to watch for hours on end.
Twista will race through syllables Friday at Alrosa with Americaz Finest, Bad HabitZ and potentially other acts that replace “s” with “z.”
