Staff Pick: The Skunky Precious Wild West Circus
This hoedown features the best of our city's homegrown country music, a plastic calf-roping contest, a mechanical bull and Sex Kitten Purr-lesque dancers.
More than 10 acts are currently on the bill, including Angela Perley and the Howlin' Moons, Matt Monta and the Smokin' Guns, and one of my absolute favorite local performers, Slick Andrews. And, of course, Skunky Precious himself (pictured).
If this is your first rodeo, you should know real cowboys and cowgals are gentlemanly. Thus, proceeds from the night's raffle will go to the Equine Relief Fund, which provides care to horses affected by natural disasters.
Fingers crossed there will also be performing holograms of Johnny Cash and Hank Williams.
